2 Anti-Slouch & Look Thinner Stretching Programs from Energy Fitness in Memphis

Do any of these sound like you? I  hunker over a desk or computer for hours a day or week.  I am a runner and feel like my posture is getting worse. I am getting older and feel myself slumping.  I am tall and often have to crouch down to talk to or hear people talk in quiet conversations.  I carry lots of  kids, bags or lift heavy objects with my arms in front of my body often.

If you said yes to any of the above questions you are not alone.  It seems that we are all getting more hunkered over. The smart phones, tablets and devices aren’t helping as the neck lunges forward and head goes down it causes overstretching of the muscles in the back of the neck and spine and over contracting of the muscles on the front side of the neck.   DSC_0169

If you weren’t born having a relative as a ballet, dance instructor or military position where posture is constantly corrected then you may need my anit-slouch programs that can take you a mere 2-5 minutes per day.  Having recently seen my beach vacation pictures I was shocked at how bad my posture had become and was determined to do something about it.  I mean who wants to look like you have a belly even if you don’t.  When someone slumps over even the skinniest of people appear to have a belly.  I had a physical therapist tell me years ago that you can have the strongest core ever but you you are tilting your hips where your belly sticks out then you are overstretching your abs all day long and it doesn’t matter.  Again, let me state that slouching is terrible for your neck, shoulders as well as your low back.

When you stand up straight and your hips are in line it can take 10 lbs off just visually as well as make you appear more confident.
